What Mel Slade got Theo for his 21st Birthday! (And the crazy cake!)

The Arsenal winger Theo Walcott celebrated his 21st Birthday last week, and he had a “surprise” birthday party thrown for him. And he revealed that he was given a bird-feeder (!!) amongst his presents, but he doesn’t say who it was from!

The reason it didn’t up being a surprise was because Armand Traore had let it slip out while having a haircut at the same time as Walcott. But we all know that surprise birthday parties are never really a surprise!

There were a great selection of Arsenal players and friends turn up for the birhday bash, including Sol Campbell, Armand Traore, Eduardo, Gael Clichy and Mr and Mrs Andrei Arshavin.

Naturally Theo’s girlfriend Mel Slade looked gorgeous as usual.

Other than Arsenal players, Tottenham’s Gareth bale was also there, and another surprise guest was the comedian Matt Lucas.

He was asked if felt like he had finally come of age in the Arsenal team, and he replied: “I’ve been in the limelight since I was 17 so, to be fair, it has gone very quickly. That always put more pressure on me. But it’s nice to reach 21 and I’ve certainly had a lively week.

“My bash on Sunday was a night to remember. It was meant to be a surprise but Armand Traore leaked it out.

“It was funny. He was having his hair cut a few days before and said ‘See you Sunday, Theo.’

“A fewplayers came which was nice and I had some nice presents.

“Mum always said what does she get a footballer who can have anything? But I am a very grateful person. I’ll have anything.

“I don’t have to go to Boots for a very long time. I’ve got lots of fragrances, shower gel, shampoo – even though I don’t have any hair.

“I got a nice bracelet from my girlfriend Mel, a Shambhala. She also got me some dragon goblets, as I love dragons. I got an alarm clock, as I am lazy – and a bird feeder.”

He doesn’t mention the crazy cake, which was the centrepiece of the night. Walcott was portrayed as Saint George, which is either a reference to the fact that he likes Dragons, or he will be fighting for England at the World Cup!
