FA cup replay and injury issues to hurt Man City chances in UCL and EPL?

The good news for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City from this weekend is that the FA cup trophy is still within reach and even though the Premier League and the Champions League trophies are not completely out of the question you would have to agree that the FA cup is the most likely source of silverware for the club this season.

It was not all good news for City though, as the draw away to Championship side Huddersfield Town means a replay and that is not ideal by any means. The manager will have to pick a strong side after Huddersfield gave a good account of themselves and with injury problems and more important matches coming up this replay is not going to help.

I certainly think that it should increase the odds of Man City for either the Champions League or Premier League and if the bookies do not offer better odds to reflect the situation then I would either bet on City winning the FA cup of something else entirely, which is easier than ever these days with some online casinos letting you pay with your mobile phone.

If Pep really is set on a trophy to celebrate in his first year in charge at the Etihad stadium then he must realise that the domestic cup offers the best chance. That should mean that he plays his best team in that replay but at the same time this could have a negative effect on Man City in the other competitions.
