England WAGs to liven up the World Cup?

As England have qualified for the World Cup, only one question remains: will the WAGs be in Brazil with them? The 2006 World Cup saw nearly of the England players’ wives join up with them in Germany – to the delight of the press – but, in 2010, Fabio Capello banned them from South Africa.

However, it looks likely that the WAGs will be with the team in Brazil, so we will quickly give you a rundown on the important ones.

Coleen Rooney

Coleen is the childhood sweetheart of star striker, Wayne Rooney. The mother of two is the current queen bee of the WAGs, having filled the stilettos left behind by Victoria Beckham. Aside from her footballing beau, she has developed a career as a TV presenter, columnist, and celebrity product endorser, working for OK Magazine and the George range at Asda.

With Betfair pricing England’s World Cup chances at 21/1, she will need to be vocal if her man is going to have a chance of World Cup success.

Alex Gerrard

Alex is the wife of current England captain, Steven Gerrard, with whom she has three daughters. Like Coleen, she is from Liverpool and is one of the leading WAGs.

The entrepreneur has her own fragrance named “Alex” and writes a weekly article for the Daily Mirror titled, “Go Shopping with Alex Curran”.  Gerrard will certainly be looking glamorous when she journeys to Brazil.

Christine Bleakley

Bleakley is currently engaged to midfielder, Frank Lampard, and, despite being Northern Irish, she will be in Brazil cheering on her partner.

Unlike many other WAGs, Bleakley carved out a successful career prior to dating her footballing partner. Bleakley shot to fame in the UK when she presented the One Show. She has since left the BBC for ITV where she worked on their flagship breakfast show, Daybreak, as well as presenting the hugely popular talent show, Dancing on Ice.
