While the Arsenal WAGs pictured below may well take the chance to check out the shopping, eating out and the sights of the capital of the German region of Bavaria this week, the Arsenal players will have more important things on their minds, such as how the Gunners can upset the odds after being handed an extremely difficult Champions League knockout draw with Bayern Munich.
It is not the normal tactic of Arsene Wenger, but I think that the Frenchman would be delighted to come away from the Allianz arena with a draw, especially a score draw, and after falling into the trap and paying the price of being too adventurous away to Chelsea last weekend I expect the Gunners to set out to frustrate Bayern first and foremost.
So with the odds of a Bayern win being around 8/15, with an Arsenal win at around 13/2 I would say that the draw at around 18/5 is the best bet, although it is a tough one to call and you might just prefer to bet your money by taking up one of the various casino offers available online.
Arsenal do have the ability to be a stronger defensive unit these days, especially if the manager decides to give up some creativity in midfield and pair either Granit Xhaka or Mohamed Elneny with Francis Coquelin. He may even go further and drop the out of form Germany international Mesut Ozil for Oxlade-Chamberlain or Iwobi who would be more help with their tracking back.
Bayern are not the usual juggernauts they have been in recent years either so maybe Arsenal will be able to upset the odds. Anything but a big loss would at least gibe the Gunners a chance in the second leg in London.
