AFL WAGs light up Brownlow awards ceremony at Crown Casino

patrickmardiThe annual Brownlow awards ceremony was held in the last couple of weeks, which rewards the fairest and best players to have played throughout the AFL season, and the WAGs of the Australian Football stars stole the show at one of the biggest casinos in Melbourne..

The main event was split into two venues, due to the Sydney Swans awaiting to take on Western Bulldogs later that week, with the Sydney Cricket Ground hosting the smaller event, whilst all the biggest names graced the red carpet at the Crown Casino.

Whilst many of our international readers will not have witnessed the beautiful casino in all its glory, nor the luxurious ladies, but you could at least admire the glitzy atmosphere at one of our live-dealer online casinos, where the dealers are just as beautiful.

annienolanAnnie Nolan, along with her husband, Western Bulldogs star Luke Picken, decided to dumbfound the fashion critics by turning up with matching tuxedos. In typical Australian mode she declared: “Women have been unfairly judged for their red carpet appearance in the past, and the boys seem to get away without criticism each year, so I thought wearing a suit would give me a free pass from the fashion police,”

“Plus the invite said ‘strictly black tie or evening gown’ so I’m not breaking any rules, but I do hope it makes people think about the unfair sexism directed towards women on the red carpet.”

Was that controversial? Not at all compared to the original style shown by Jordon Ablett, the wife of Gold Coast Suns’ star Gary Ablett, and as you can see below it was a stunning outfit!

gary-jordan-ablett justwagsnews.com This annual Brownlow Medal event is becoming the main fashion event of the year in Melbourne, and the WAGs are always sure to wear some amazingly revealing numbers, although some stick to more traditional dress like Mardi Dangerfield.

She is shown in the pic at the top of the page, along with her husband Patrick from the Geelong Football Club, who won the prestigious Brownlow Medal on the night by polling a record 35 votes, 9 ahead of Luke Parker and 10 in front of Dustin Martin.

To finish off our show of Australian glamour I’ll end with a pic of the beautiful Ruby Keddie posing with Jessie Habermann at the Crown Casino catwalk….
