There has been no English club crowned as Champions of Europe, in either the Champions League or Europa League format, since Chelsea beat Benfica at the Amsterdam Arena back in 2013 to lift the Europa League trophy. In general the clubs from the English Premier League have done badly in Europe, but that has not stopped the bookies making Manchester United big favourites for the title this season.
If they are right then the Man United WAGs pictured below could be set for a fair amount of travel around Europe in the coming months, starting with France next week, after the Red Devils host St. Etienne at Old Trafford this week in the first leg of the knockout rounds. Despite not even winning the qualifying group United are massive favourites at around 1/5 to get past the French club and the price of about 9/2 to win it outright does not seem to be great value and I might just bet my money at one of the many online casinos instead.
Jose Mourinho has definitely got Man United moving in the right way and they are now unbeaten in 17 EPL games as well as having the EFL cup final coming up, but even with some great players like Ibrahimovic, Pogba, Mkhitaryan and all I have serious doubts about United winning the Europa League.
Depending on the draw though, the WAGs of the United players could have some nice trips coming up, with the likes of Roma, Olympiacos, Lyon, Fiorentina and Athletic Bilbao still in the mix.
