But the recurring theme off all these rumours is that Gerrard and his wife, Alex Curran, have split up, despite her constant denials.

But whatever the state of internet rumours, it is now being said that the reason for England’s dismal display at the World Cup is because John Terry (and his co-conspirators) were extremely angry that the Chelsea captain was stripped of his leadership position, while Gerrard was given the captains armband despite being guilty of an even worse offence!

Whether all this is true or not is a matter for discussion, but it could have been blown up after a report appeared in the Sun about a rift between the Chelsea and Liverpool players, and specifically Gerrard and Terry.

An England ‘source’ was quoted as saying: “There was a lot of tension between Stevie G and JT and it couldn’t be allowed to fester.

“So Becks stepped in to act as a peacemaker. He spoke with both and sorted it all out.

“He helped clear the air between them and stopped the matter deteriorating further. But who knows whether it will all flare up again now we have crashed out of the World Cup.”

Rumours, rumours, rumours. But there definitely seemed to be something wrong with the England team in South Africa, and I sincerely hope that these professionals (who are paid over £100,000 A WEEK!) didn’t let personal differences destroy four years of hard work to get to the Finals…..

The football gossip site CaughtOffside.com has indicated that this player is Gerrard, and it has also been said that the information came from the same person that broke the John Terry affair with Vanessa Perroncel.

Terry tried to get a “super injunction” preventing anyone from reporting the rumours about his affair, and it has been alleged that this “major Liverpool player” is at this moment trying to impose the same gagging order on anyone repeating these allegations.

The rumours go on to say that Gerrard’s wife Alex has been having an affair with the Derby and Scotland striker Kris Commons, and that Gerrard is already planning to move to a foreign club in the summer to escape from all the media storm that would accompany the revelations, if they proved to be true.

I must stress that I have absolutely no way of knowing whether the rumours are true, I am simply reporting what has been written on other websites, and I hope for Steven Gerrard and England’s sake that they are totally without foundation, because they could throw England’s World Cup preparations into disarray.

The Man Utd defender didn’t hold back when he exclaimed: “I have no time for WAGs. I don’t like what they have brought to the game. Some women hang around to get a footballer boyfriend.

“They then infest the game. They get more attention than the players. We’re here to play the game, not waste energy or worry about what’s going on off the pitch.

“I’ve been there, so I know. There are women everywhere, you have money in your pocket and there are temptations.”

He thinks that the presence of the WAGs at the last World Cup didn’t help Englands chance, in fact he thinks they turned it into a circus!

He continued: “It seemed like there was a big show around the whole England squad.

“People were worrying more about what people were wearing and where they were going out rather than the England football team.”

He doesn’t sound very happy does he? We can assume that he won’t be following John Terry and Ashley Cole in doing the rounds of the local WAGs then!

His then girlfriend, Ellen Rives, was present at the last World Cup, and Lampard feels that having the WAGs around just causes a distraction to the most important football competition in the world. There is no room for error in a tournament that only comes around every four years.

‘I don’t want the distraction,’ Lampard said.

‘Listen, if I’m chosen to go, then the World Cup is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If you say that for those four to six weeks I have got to be away from my girlfriend, then I’ll take it. I don’t want the women staying somewhere round the corner, so I’m thinking, “Does she want me there today? I want to rest today, I don’t really want to go out and see her, but the other players are going, so should I?”‘

At last! A footballer that actually takes the World Cup seriously. He sounds like he actually intends to win it. And if there are no WAGs around at least John Terry will be concentrating on the football too!

One of Cheryl’s “pals” was quoted in the Daily Star as saying: “All the WAGs fear Vanessa might have made a play for their husband in the past. It would be understandable if Cheryl felt the same,”

“This situation has opened up old wounds for Cheryl. She’s forgiven Ashley but wants to keep him out of trouble.

“He’s friends with Terry and she doesn’t want him in a crowd of lads drinking and chatting up girls. She’d probably like it if he quit Chelsea.”

She may even be more worried today as it has been revealed that an injury to Ashley will keep him out of the game for the next three months. What on earth will he doing with all that free time?

Her uncle, Bernard Perroncel, tried to explain her way of thinking last night.

‘Obviously from an early age Vanessa realised the power of money and the effect it can have on people’s lives,’ he said.

‘She saw what money problems had done to her parents’ marriage and her father, and she never wanted it to happen to her.

‘After her father’s funeral Vanessa made the decision to leave France and move to England because she wanted a better life.

‘Certainly, she was very pretty and very charming, like her mother, and she decided to use those attributes to her advantage.’

Lee Latchford Evans also gave an insight into her personality last night.

He said: ‘Vanessa is the type who likes to be looked after, to be treated well. You have to have money to be able to do that.

‘That’s what she always wanted. That’s what she is about.

‘She was always going to move on to bigger fish. I gave her a taste of celebrity and she wanted more.

‘Footballers earn so much money. She knew how to climb the ranks.”

‘She was always going to be with someone who could look after her and who was very good at what they do. She found that with me, and she’s found that with other people.’

It seems that the first Chelsea player she got involved with was Eidur GudJohnsen before meeting Wayne Bridge, who became the father of her baby.

When she split up with Wayne it is alleged that John Terry used to pop around the corner to give her a shoulder (!) to cry on.

There was also Adrian Mutu, and a fifth player that can’t be named yet due to an injunction. The Mail also says they have information about yet another two Chelsea players that got involved.

She is starting a new life as she is trying to break into the horsey world of dressage, which she is taking extremely seriously.

After a year of intense training she is now going for the big-time, and will be appearing at the International Horse of the Year show at Olympia, in front of over 90,000 people.

“I’m scared witless,” she said (Well i think it was “witless!”) “There are people who have been doing dressage all their lives – sweat, blood and tears. I don’t just want to come in and have an easy path. I want to work hard and deserve it.”

“I’ve always worked and I feel strongly about having my own career. That only ended when I fell pregnant. I’ve tried to avoid the spotlight. I am exceptionally proud of John – what he has achieved since he was 17 is amazing.

“But now the children are more grown up I can exert myself a bit. Before I felt I was John’s wife and a mum first and foremost. Now I think I have something to say – especially about the equestrian world. My aim is to get to the top levels of dressage. I don’t just want to be known as John’s wife but also as a working mum.”

She then went on to say that she didn’t want her kids to grow up being spoilt brats, and to remember their parents humble beginings, despite him being one of the highest earners in the Premiership.

“John earns an amazing amount of money,” says Toni, “But I want our kids to understand that it doesn’t all come on a plate and that they’re very lucky. I want them to have manners and be respectful. We both grew up in Essex with parents who worked their hardest to provide for us. I remember me and my sister had to sleep on the floor in sleeping bags. John and I know the value of money and a good education.

“I’ll sit at home and surf the internet. I love finding a bargain, but I’ll look at the price tag and if something is too expensive I won’t buy it.”

Then she was asked what made her go for a complete change and turn brunette, and apparently it’s her natural colour!

“I wanted a change.” she said. “I had been thinking about it for so long then one day I woke up and thought, right, let go for it. It’s my natural colour. I’m really happy with it. I am conscious of how I look. I want to look good for my husband but also for myself.”

She is definitely a good choice for our first WAG post, and i am VERY interested to see what she looks like as a brunette.
